Event Photography

On January 10th,
I photographed the Fashion event WHAT THE F**K ARE THEY DOING.
A friend of mine was opening this event, so I went there for shooting event.

The event was about Fashion, Art, Photography and music. Artists and models were all from Vancouver, and they are almost same age with me. For example, the most important person in this event Lillea Goian(known as lillzkillz), she is still 20 years old, a fashion designer and the founder of profanity. The other artists were also around 22 or less.

I really enjoyed the event, but I found the challenges in the event as well. Actually this was the first time to shoot night event, and using flush. I tried several times of flush shooting before I went there, but it was difficult to get right power of flush light, so I needed to find right exposures at the event.

For finding right exposures, what I did was tried different flush power first, I remembered I was shooting these pictures with 1/64 flush power. And I tried different exposures like F8, Shutter speed 125,  and set ISO a little bit higher than usual which was ISO 500.

For me it's always good to try different things and learn other fields. I found out my weakness of storytelling approach, so I will work on that. If I shoot event again in the future, I will go to the place earlier to figure out the place where you want to photograph from, and have tripod, wide-long focal length lens. More importantly, to communicate with people in the event.

My passion for photography

(5 minutes to read.) Model: Husnu Hello everyone, I have a question to the photographers out there. If someone ask you "What is your type of photography that you passionate about?", what is your answer look like? Can you answer it immediately? or are you still not sure what you want to do? Today's blog is about my passion for photography.  Before we go deeper, let me answer that question first. Model: Amber Personally, I can answer that question by describing March 6th versions of my idea. But if you ask me same question tomorrow, it will be not same in my mind. Maybe it will be sounds like same, but my inside is different. It will be a little bit more detailed.  Why? Because my mind is changed all the time, and I move forward every single day. I learn from small challenges, all the conversations and emails, all the lessons teacher gave, and I spend time for check the details whether I like or not. So my mind changes little by litt...

Essential chip for studio shooting

On Sunday, January 21st, I had a shoot with Lillea Goian , she is a lady who I introduced in last blog. She is a 20 years old fashion designer, and one of the most notable young lady in Vancouver, I think. I met her on the street about 5or 6month a go and since then I wanted to have a shoot with her.  And these are the pictures we got.  Today I want to talk about 2 chip which I always do or think when I have a photoshoot. 1. tell your models/clients what you want to get I think this is really important. If you don't have any ideas for the shooting, like about their cloth, color, Background color, expressions and what is your plan for the shoot..etc, you will never get satisfied picture. I think as a photographer, I should be very clear about what I want to get in the shoot before I actually start shooting.  And tell/explain the models what I want to get until they are also able to imagine what I imagine.  so always helpful to get exam...
